Golden Globe-nominated actress Jennifer Lopez takes on a role we haven’t seen her play before in The Mother, streaming now only on Netflix. She plays a military-trained assassin who is determined to protect the daughter she left behind by any means necessary.
The Mother is an action-adventure movie directed by Niko Caro from a screenplay co-written by Misha Green, Andrea Berloff, and Peter Craig. Lopez portrays the role of The Mother.
The Mother worked and had romantic relationships with two dangerous arms dealers in the past. After falling pregnant and realizing that the men she was working with were involved in something morally wrong, she leaves them behind to get help from the FBI. But things become complicated when the men track her down, seeking revenge. So, she entrusts FBI agent William Cruise with her newborn daughter and goes into hiding. However, she eventually has to come out of hiding when her now 12-year-old daughter is abducted by the ruthless men from her past.
