Alexander John Ligertwood is an English singer, guitarist and drummer of Scottish origin. He is known as the lead singer of Santana, with five different performances from 1979 to 1994, including the 1982 American Festival. He is noted in Santana's songs as "All I. Ever Wanted", "You Know That I Love You "," Win "and" Fight ". He has also performed with the Senate, the Jeff Beck Group and Brian Auger's Oblivion Express. He also appeared with the side project Go Ahead started by Grateful Dead members John Cipollina and friends, Medium White Band and David Sancious. Ligertwood sang the lead role on Dixie Dregs' "Crank It Up", on their Industry Standard album, as well as in the song "Double Bad" on Jeff Lorber's In the Heat of the Night album. In 1972, he was part of the memorable group Troc with drummer André Ceccarelli, bassist Jannick Top, pianist Henri Giordano and guitarist Jacky Giraudo.
