Geralt and Yennefer’s love story is at the center of The Witcher. Cosmically linked and supposedly fated for one another, their rocky relationship has seen its fair share of ups and downs. Still, the two always seem to find their way back to one another, helped along by something more, their connection to Ciri.
But we leave them in a rocky place at the end of The Witcher season 2. Can they fix things in The Witcher season 3?
Major spoilers ahead for The Witcher season 3
In the second season, Yennefer lost her way after losing her access to Chaos at the Battle of Sodden Hill. She spent most of season 2 trying desperately to find a way to get her magic back, leading her to betray Geralt and Ciri. In the end, Yennefer realizes her wrongs and tries to fix things by sacrificing herself for Ciri in the fight against Voleth Meir. Is it enough to earn their forgiveness?
It seems to be a start, as Geralt invites Yennefer to come with him and Ciri and help Ciri in her magical training. However, he makes it clear he still doesn’t trust her just yet.
Thankfully, fans of the couple don’t have to wait too long for them to reconcile. The Witcher season 3 begins with a montage of the trio spending several months together, and we get to see several scenes of them slowly bonding.
Yennefer communicates with Geralt primarily through letters for a long time until he finally softens and allows her to join him and Ciri for dinner. By the end of episode 1, Geralt trusts Yennefer enough to let her take Ciri to Aretuza while he hunts for Rience.
The two restart their romantic relationship, and they do share several kisses and at least one very romantic night together in the first part of season 3.
